El Profe is Spanish slang for the "Professor". This name was given to him by his Homie students where he teaches at Homies High. Besides having a masters degree in education, El Profe is very intellegent about everything in life. He cares very deeply for the young Homies that come through his classroom. He grew up in the same neighborhood as them, and knows the challenges they face. Although he has been offered jobs at some very prestigeous Universities...he prefers to stay at Homie High School, where he feels he is needed more.
